Westlake’s Over 90’s Birthday Celebration

Mayor Clough pauses for a photo with Former Mayor of North Olmsted, Yvonne Petrigac

Check out the party of the year: Big thanks go out to Office Manager, Cindi Lindgren for organizing our Over 90’s Birthday Celebration which was held last Wednesday, May 3 at the Westlake Community Center. Over 100 guests were in attendance – including 72 guests of honor who received proclamations from Mayor Clough.

Our own Chefs’ Garrett and Abby prepared a festive brunch along with birthday cupcakes provided by Brookdale Westlake Village, centerpieces provided by Infinite Helping Hands and chocolate bar favors provided by Atrium/St. Mary of the Woods Senior Living Community Avon, Ohio.

Alice receives a personal proclamation from Mayor Clough.

A few party highlights included: celebrating 100 years young with Mary Miller, Frances Rothenberg enjoying her actual 96th birthday with us and former Mayor of North Olmsted, Yvonne Petrigac was in attendance to the surprise and delight of Mayor Clough as he recalled them having a great working relationship at the time they were both in the role of Mayor.

To share the words of one of our attendees as written in a note received just days following the event, “As a 97 year old resident of Westlake, I attended your 90 years and Over Birthday Party and I want to thank you and your staff for providing that lovely celebration. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so friendly. It was fun being photographed with Mayor Clough and seeing all the others posing with him.”

Thank you to all of our residents who were here to celebrate with us for allowing us to honor you for the day.
