The City of Bay Village will hold a Grand Opening of the new pedestrian bridge across Cahoon Creek at 3:30 p.m. June 23 in Cahoon Memorial Park.
This new bridge and trail network connects the park’s Lake Erie shoreline and outdoor recreation facilities with residents, visitors, schools, and businesses. It’s called the Interurban Pedestrian Bridge because it’s along the route of the old Interurban light rail line that ran from Cleveland to Toledo. Some of the old abutments are still standing in Huntington Reservation.
It gives Bay Village one of the best walking trails in the state, linking lake views with community resources like the Library, skate park, pool and Play in Bay.
