Congratulations to Avon High senior running back Jakorian Caffey. The University of Cincinnati commit took down Avon’s records for career yardage (held by Bobby LaRosa), touchdowns and points (Gerett Choat) last Friday night in the Eagles 45-7 homecoming win over Midview.
The Eagles can now clinch a share of their eighth straight Southwestern Conference championship on Friday at Amherst as rival Avon Lake’s loss last week to Olmsted Falls gives the Eagles a one-game lead in the SWC standings. Avon will host arch-rival Avon Lake in a SWC season-ender in their Week 10 rivalry.
Caffey now has 3,940 career yards rushing, 60 touchdowns and 260 points scored. He became the school’s leading rusher with his first carry of the game Friday.
