Don Werner was admitted to Life Care Center of Westlake in February of 2022 from Euclid Hospital after becoming dizzy while in the bathroom resulting in falling and hitting his head.
At this time Don was unable to walk or even stand due to extreme dizziness. Don required maximum assistance for all ADLs.
Don had worked hard in both physical and occupational therapy to be able to walk and return his ability to perform basic ADLs. Despite his functional gains his dizziness was still limiting his mobility and ability to care for himself independently and LTC appeared to be Don’s future.
Our physical and occupational therapy team encouraged Don to try therapy again and Don participated in vestibular rehabilitation to improve balance and reduce dizziness. Don has regained his ability to complete all ADLs and IADLs independently as well as his ability to walk community distances without a device!
Don will be discharging our facility and moving into his own Assisted Living Apartment and is very excited to start this new chapter.
Congratulations Don and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you in this journey! For more information about our therapy services at Life Care Center of Westlake call us at (440) 871-3030 and ask for the Director of Rehabilitation.
