Save the Date! Empty Bowls by the Lake

October 19, 11 am – 2 pm • Avon Lake High School Commons. $25 donation for handcrafted bowl, unlimited soup, & entertainment

The preparations for the annual event are already underway. Students are creating pottery bowls. Restaurants will donate soup and bread. Guests will be invited on Saturday, October 19 to a simple meal of soup and bread served at ALHS from 11am- 2pm. In exchange for a $25 donation, guests will be asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world. The event will include live entertainment and a silent auction.

All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and other local community resource centers and food banks. When you give to Empty Bowls by the Lake, you are joining us in the fight against hunger. You are helping us to feed the hungry and to spread the word about the need that exists all around us. Since our 2012 start, we have donated over $132,000 to local organizations directly feeding the hungry.

It’s not too late to join our fight against hunger. Restaurants, we would love to serve one of your delicious soups. Businesses, we would love to feature one of your products or experiences in our silent auction. Volunteers, we could use your help.
