Cleveland Pregnancy Center and Cornerstone Pregnancy Services Consolidate

Cleveland Pregnancy Center and Cornerstone Pregnancy Services announced on September 30, 2024, that the two organizations merged to better serve their mission of caring for women by providing life-affirming services.

The legal name of the organization will be Cornerstone Pregnancy Services but the ministry will continue to do business as Lilli Women’s Center in Cleveland and Cornerstone Women’s Health Center in Elyria.

Cleveland Pregnancy Center was founded in 1984 and has operated continually serving the women of greater Cleveland, specifically the communities of Berea, Strongsville, Parma, and near West Side.

Cornerstone Pregnancy Services was founded in 1986 and has served thousands of women in Lorain County and western Cuyahoga. Both ministries are faith-based and dedicated to providing alternatives to abortion to anyone facing a pregnancy decision. The consolidated company is nationally affiliated with CareNet, Heartbeat International, and the Evangelical Center for Financial Accountability.

This is a strategic move that is of tremendous benefit to our community as we seek more efficient and effective ways of intersecting the lives of women facing unplanned, unprepared pregnancies with education, resources, and emotional support.

The consolidated entity will be led by a merged board of directors and the leadership of Chief Executive Officer, Cynthia Carter Harris, BSN, MBA, D. Min. Cynthia has been part of Cornerstone since 2011 and has an extensive medical service background. The timeliness of this consolidation couldn’t have been more suitable for such a time as this. Cynthia Carter-Harris asserts: “Our collective services to our respective communities will benefit greatly. We have over 40 years of experience meeting the needs of women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.”

Board Chairperson, Linda Potter, states: “We are excited that combining our years of experience, dedicated staff and passion for coming alongside women in crisis will be a force multiplier bringing deeper and expanded services to more women and families facing a pregnancy decision.” Potter also wanted to acknowledge the professional expertise of Dr. Randall Luecke who served as a Consultant during the Consolidation process. “Randy’s guidance seamlessly expedited the exploration, due diligence, and negotiation of this milestone event in our ministry history.” Board President of Cleveland Pregnancy Center, Robert Brooks, states the following concerning the consolidation: “I think of the Bible verse in Ecclesiastes 4:9 that declares ‘two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts.’ As both centers pursue and foster saving lives, it’s an act of faith and trust to become one in the pursuit of saving lives of the unborn here in Northeast Ohio. Hope itself is an expectation of good and that’s what I believe we are doing through this consolidation.”
