Step Back in Time at Rose Hill for the Holiday Season

Step back in time to experience Christmas past at Rose Hill Museum.

The Bay Village Historical Society is inviting Bay Village residents and children of all ages to join them in celebrating an old-fashioned community Christmas on three Sundays and three Wednesdays in December.

Follow Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus on their journey through the streets of Bay Village aboard a fire truck on Dec. 1. They will leave from the Bay Lodge on Bradley Rd. at 2 p.m. and will arrive at the gazebo in the center of town for the holiday tree lighting ceremony around 4:30 p.m.

Rose Hill Museum will be beautifully decorated for the holiday season. While you are at the museum, you can search for the hidden holiday Nutcrackers. There will be treats after the scavenger hunt. Rose Hill Museum will be open free of charge on Sundays, Dec. 8, 15, and 22, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11, and 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Museum guides will be dressed in period costumes.

“The Night Before Christmas” will be read by Preston Postle at the museum every Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening. The Bay High Choraleers will sing carols at Rose Hill on Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. A variety of craft demonstrations may be viewed each day.

Have your family (even the dog!) photographed with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and elves aboard our refurbished vintage sleigh on Dec. 11. The cost is $20, and reservations are recommended to reserve a time at www.bayhistorical.com. You can pay in advance via PayPal to info@bayhistorical.com or by cash or check payable to the Bay Village Historical Society, collected at the event. Photos will be emailed to you.
