Three Educational Scholarships will be Awarded in Recognition of Youth Volunteers Who Enrich the Lives of Seniors
Senior living organization Saint Therese has opened the application process for its annual Youth Volunteer Scholarships. Each year, the nonprofit awards scholarships to youth volunteers who have spent time enriching the lives of seniors in a care community, independent or assisted living, senior day program or in a neighborhood or community. In 2025, Saint Therese increased its program to award three $2,000 educational scholarships.
To be eligible, youth volunteers must currently be in grades 11-12 during the 2024-25 school year and have completed a minimum of 20 volunteer hours with one or more seniors by the date of the submission. Volunteer hours may be spent in such ways as: companionship visits, helping with household chores, raking leaves, shoveling snow, grocery shopping, transportation to appointments, etc.
The application deadline is April 4, 2025. Eligible applicants must reside in one of the following counties:
- Minnesota: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott or Washington
- Wisconsin: Pierce or St. Croix
- Michigan: Monroe or Wayne
- Ohio: Lorain or Cuyahoga
