Local Boys Take Home State Cross Country Runner-Up Trophy

A group of local boys saw success at the 19th Annual Ohio Cross Country Middle and Elementary School State Championships last weekend-taking home the State Runner-Up team trophy for the Elementary Boys Division 2, 3 & 4 Race in Dublin, Ohio.

The team, who call themselves the Running Raiders, consists of a group of 4th, 5th and 6th graders-Luke Bloomfield, Daniel Bloomfield, Caelan Steadman, Brady Bizga, Tommy Sayles, Brady Fehring, Kellen Jackson, and Noah Wolford-all attending St. Raphael School in Bay Village, Ohio.

In addition to the honor of winning the team State Runner-Up Title, Bloomfield (Luke) and Steadman both saw the podium, medaling in the Top 15.

Although the rain started at 6 am and didn’t stop-the boys ran with grit and determination through a soaking muddy course.  The amount of teamwork shown by this group of youngsters is well beyond their years.
