RRMS 7th Graders Hold Food Drive

Rocky River Middle School seventh graders recently held the 3rd Annual Food Drive Competition with the efforts helping to support the Rocky River Assistance Program’s food pantry.

Students on both teams went above and beyond with their efforts and generosity, combining to donate 2,502 items to the RRAP. Middle school officials were informed that is was the largest donation that the RRAP has ever received from a group or organization.

Each team kept a record of points for every day of the drive, earning points by donating food items. There was a “bonus item” each day that was worth double points and the list was created after speaking with the RRAP and asking what they were most in need of.

The Explorers team wound up with the most donations, but as all the students said; “the biggest winners are the families we helped.
