Avon Honors Retiring Chief Emling

Congratulations and best wishes to veteran Avon Asst. Fire Chief Mike Emling, who recently retired after a distinguished 35-year career of service to the community.

Chief Emling was recognized by City Council last week where he was presented a plaque by Mayor Bryan Jensen and Fire Chief Frank Root. Both extolled his years of dedicated service.

As he departed, Chief Emling graciously thanked Council for the recognition, saying that in 35 years he never met a person affiliated with the community that he didn’t like. “Whatever you are doing here, keep doing it!” exclaimed Chief Emling. Afterward he posed for a photo with members of the fire department who attended the ceremony.
