Thomas F. Hill Memorial Planned

The incomparable Thomas F. Hill returned to conduct the Alma Mater at the 2018 Westlake Homecoming game.

Tom Hill was beloved as band and choir director for Westlake Schools from 1954 until his retirement in 1987. He touched countless lives with his dedication and commitment to education and excellence through music.

He is fondly remembered for his contributions to Westlake music programs, from arranging the school alma mater and fight song to the creation of Music a la Mode.

In his honor, the Thomas F. Hill Memorial Contribution Committee in conjunction with the WHS Music Directors are commissioning a new band and choir composition to premiere at next year’s Music a la Mode. The composer is Major Ryan Nowlin, USMC, of ‘The President’s Own,” in Washington, DC.

The Thomas F. Hill Memorial Composition Committee is in charge of raising money for this commissioned piece.

All contributions are tax-deductible, and any funds exceeding the amount required will be retained by the Music Boosters to continue their support of the music program in Westlake City Schools.
