Meet Helen Beatrix Potter, Creator of Peter Rabbit

Meet Stephanie Kramer Vetrone. Stephanie has been presenting historical re-enactment programs for Exceptional Women in History over the past 22 years. Stephanie will present “The Life of Beatrix Potter.” As part of her re-enactment, she will be dressed in period costume, narrate the story with 2-3 songs of the time period as she shifts between being the narrator and the “women of the hour” Beatrix Potter.

Helen Beatrix Potter is known for her children’s books, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” and her warm illustrations. This helped make her one of the most successful children’s writers in the world. However, she also was an accomplished farmer, politically active, and helped to establish the National Trust (Parks) in the Lake District of Northern England. She dismissed London Society and helped make many lives better, living amongst the farmers, and helping to promote the arts and crafts movement.

This event is presented by the Avon Lake Historical Society. It will take place Mon., Nov. 14, 1 – 2 p.m. at the Avon Lake Public Library, Waugman Gallery, 32649 Electric Blvd. in Avon Lake.
