Avon Tree Lighting 2024

An exciting update from the Avon Tree Lighting Ceremony! Please join in on the fun Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 3-7 pm at the Avon Aquatic Facility (36265 Detroit Road, Avon) for the 2024 Avon Tree Lighting Ceremony! The parade, featuring the Ride with Santa Contest winner, will start promptly at 5 pm. In addition to this, we are pleased to announce that Santa will have special time reserved for families with children with special needs from 1:00-3:00pm at the Avon Police Department Community Room (36145 Detroit Road). The building is wheelchair accessible, and there will be fun activities available while the kids wait to see Santa. Be sure to sign up early, as space is limited! As usual, the Ride with Santa Contest will be selected from nominations from community members and focused on a young boy or girl going through a tough time that we, as a community, can help bring a little joy to. Thus, please don’t forget to nominate a child who could use a little extra cheer.

During the event, we will have performances from the Fairytale Princesses, the Choristers, and the Avon Choir program. We will have gingerbread contests and Raffle baskets, along with crafts from Michael’s, Pinspiration and the Avon Teachers Association. You can get your photo taken with Santa and sip on some hot cocoa. There will also be a petting zoo and free food and treats.
