Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month at Westlake Porter Public Library

This September Westlake Porter Public Library (WPPL) invites you to celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month and discover everything the library offers, no matter what your interests are.

This year’s theme, “A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes,” is a reminder that libraries are for everyone, regardless of age, background, or goals. Whether you’re exploring a new hobby, searching for your next great read, brushing up on technology skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.

At WPPL you can explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs, enjoy family storytimes and maker programs, use devices in the Makerspace, examine the stars in the Space Exploration Lab, and stream or download media. From classes and job resources to cultural events, WPPL connects the Westlake community to information, inspiration, and one another.

With a WPPL library card you access the materials, services and programs the library offers. Getting a library card is free, easy, and empowering. For students, it can be a key to academic success. For adults, it’s a gateway to lifelong learning. For everyone, it’s a smart way to stay connected to the community.

This September, B sharp and sign up for a library card. Stop by Westlake Porter Public Library or register online for a card by filling out the application form found at westlakelibrary.org/welcome. Applicants need a valid photo ID showing their current address to complete the application process and receive a card. Anyone who lives, works, owns property or attends school in Ohio is eligible for a library card at any Ohio library.

Whether you’re getting new card or a replacing an old one, you can choose from three designs: a Snoopy-themed card, a READ card, or a custom WPPL design.
