Wednesdays, November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 (10:15 & 11 a.m.) Let’s Sing and Dance! – Sing and move to the music with Miss Nancy! For children ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Please arrive early to receive a ticket.
Wednesday, November 1 (1-2:30 p.m.) Cuyahoga West Genealogy Society Help Session – Please join the genealogy group for an informal walk-in help session.
Wednesdays, November 1, 8 and 15 (4-5:30 p.m.) and Thursdays, November 2, 9 and 16 (6:30-8 p.m.) Bow Wow Books – Stop by Youth Services to sign up for a 10-minute reading time with one of the reading therapy dogs! Registration begins each Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 14 (2-5 p.m.) and Monday, November 20 and Thursday, November 30 (5:30-8:30 p.m.) NaNoWriMo Open Writing Sessions – Drop in for a quiet space to write, brainstorm, and create. Bring your own writing supplies. We’ll provide the space and snacks!
Wednesday, November 1 (3:30-6 p.m.) Super Smash Tournament – We’re going head-to-head in an epic brawl! Test out your skills in Super Smash to see who will claim the top spot! Retro consoles and other games will be available as well as FREE snacks and pop! Grades 7-12. Registration begins October 25.
Wednesday, November 1 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Horror Film Club – Join us as we explore some of the classic films from the genres of Horror, Science Fiction, and Suspense. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Please register.
NaNoWriMo Author Talks – Join us during National Novel Writing Month for talks by local authors about their writing processes, overcoming fears/blocks, their publishing experiences, and writing various genres, from science fiction to romance to memoirs. Saturday, November 4 (10:30-11 a.m.) Mother Goose On the Loose! – An interactive storytime featuring simple books, rhymes, songs and movement. For ages birth-3 years old with a caregiver. No registration required.
Saturdays, November 4, 11, 18 and 25 (3-4:30 p.m.) Tween Code Club – Learn how to build an app, design a video game, and change the world through code! Registration begins one week before each session. Grades 5-8.
Saturday, November 4 (4-5:30 p.m.) STEAMMaker Lab – This month’s topic: Seasonal Science. Grades 3-5. Registration begins October 28.
Sunday, November 5 (2-3 p.m.) American Girl Doll Club: Nanea Mitchell – The stories of Nanea Mitchell, a native Hawaiian girl growing up in Hawaii during WWII, teaches that Kokua — doing going deeds and giving selflessly — sometimes requires sacrifice. We will decorate and fill a “good deed jar” and play games. Ages 6-11. Registration begins October 29.
Mondays, November 6, 13, 20 and 27 (3:30-5:30 p.m.) Teen Lounge – Need a place to hang out after school? Come to WPPL’s Teen Lounge on Monday afternoons! We have computers, video games, board games, snacks, and more! For grades 7-12 only. No registration required.
Monday, November 6 (6:30-8 p.m.) Sharing & Caring for Family Treasures – Get an introductory lesson on caring for family heirlooms from Jennifer Souers Chevraux, Education Outreach Officer at ICA – Art Conservation. Please register.
Monday, November 6 (7-8:30 p.m.) Maker Monday: Arduino and Raspberry Pi – Learn about these tiny but mighty technology tools- one a microcontroller, the other a credit-card-sized computer- and learn what others have made with them. Please register.
Tuesdays, November 7, 14 and 28 (2-3 p.m.) Conversational Spanish for Beginners – Please join us to learn Spanish vocabulary and pronunciation with an expert instructor. Please register.
Tuesday, November 7 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Robotics Class & Coding for Kids – Sylvan Learning Center is joining us to present two great classes at the same time! Kids can choose to either create and animate robots using LEGO bricks kits OR to learn how to use coding to design their own video game! Grades 3-6 only. Registration begins one week before each session.
Thursday, November 9 (2-3 p.m.) Great Decisions Discussion Program on World Affairs – Discuss critical global issues facing America today. At the beginning of each month, a copy of the article may be picked up at the Ask Us Desk. Please read the article prior to the meeting. Please register.

Friday, November 10 (9:30 and 10:30 a.m.) and Saturday, November 11 (9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.) Music Therapy & MoreSM – For families and their children (ages 0-6 years) who are struggling in an area of development. Join us for a program designed to teach families how to use music to improve their child’s motor, communication and social skills as well as behavior. This program is led by a Board Certified Music Therapist from Music Therapy Enrichment Center, Inc. (MTEC). Each session is 30 minutes. Saturday, November 11 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) ACT Practice Exam – Get ready for test time with an ACT practice exam. Study skills will be discussed and detailed results will be returned to students at the November 18 results session. An optional writing portion will be offered immediately following the initial practice exam. Grades 9-12. Registration begins November 4.
Saturday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 28 (10 a.m.-Noon) Making & Mailing Holiday Cards – Discover how to create cards with Canva, a free and easy-to-use online design software tool. Learn how to use Excel and Word to create mail merged labels. Please register.
Saturday, November 11 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) Turkey Time Crafts! – Gobble, gobble, gobble! It’s almost time to celebrate Thanksgiving! Join us at the library and make some fun turkey crafts! No registration required.

Sunday, November 12 (2-3:30 p.m.) Sensory Friendly Movie – A sensory-friendly environment including more light, less sound and the option to move around the room will help children with special needs and their families enjoy this free movie screening. Registration begins November 5.
Monday, November 13 (1-1:30 p.m.) Yoga Rhyme Time! – This is a perfect way to introduce yoga and practice simple poses with rhymes that imitate animals and nature. Remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat. Ages 3 1/2 – 5 with a caregiver. No registration required.
Monday, November 13 (2-3 p.m.) Medicare Updates – October 15 – December 7 is Medicare Open Enrollment. Join us as an OSHIIP Community Liaison from the Ohio Department of Insurance provides us with timely information about Medicare changes. Please register.
Monday, November 13 (7-8 p.m.) Adult Color – Studies show coloring can reduce your stress and anxiety. We’ll provide coloring pages and colored pencils or bring your own. Open to adults 18 and over. Please register.
Tuesday, November 14 (10 a.m.-Noon) Career Transition Center: Results-Oriented Resumes – When you are looking for a job you become a salesperson selling yourself to your next employer. Your primary “sales tool” is a well-designed, targeted resume. Learn what will catch the employers’ attention and make them want to interview you.
Tuesday, November 14 (2-3 p.m.) Legal Planning: Legal Issues for Seniors – Learn about the planning necessary to ensure that our personal, financial and medical needs will be met as we age. Topics to be discussed include the importance of preparing for incapacity, the costs of long term care and how to pay them, and more. Please register.

Saturday, November 18 (3-4:30 p.m.) Make Your Own: Coil Pottery – You’ll receive hands-on instruction and create your own piece using the coil pottery method! Items will be glazed at the pottery studio. Please register.
Sunday, November 19 (1:30-4 p.m.) Ugly Sweater Party – Get ready for the holiday festivities by making your very own ugly sweater! We’ll provide the sweaters and supplies, you bring the creativity to make them as tacky as possible! Grades 7-12. Registration begins November 12.
Monday, November 20 (6:30-7:15 p.m.) Adapted Storytime – Children with varying learning styles and abilities learn in a safe, supportive environment where respect and appreciation for differences are encouraged. This 30 minute storytime, followed by time for socialization, is designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime experience. Content is geared toward ages 3-7, but all ages are welcome. Siblings may also attend, but must register separately. Registration begins November 13.
Tuesday, November 21 (7-8:30 p.m.) Decorate with Dean’s Greenhouse – What’s more festive than winter decorations? Dean’s Greenhouse is coming to WPPL with bright ideas for a delightful holiday filled with beautiful greenery. Please register.
