Lake Erie Nature & Science Center Family Astronomy Night: An Evening Under the Stars
Friday, January 26 ~ 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. For all ages
Spend an evening under the stars as we observe the beautiful winter night sky in both the natural elements and inside our planetarium. Outdoors we will go on night hike and set up telescopes for viewing (bring your binoculars if you have them). After, we will warm up indoors with a special planetarium program and hot chocolate! Fee: $8/person; children 2 and under free. Advance registration available
Dwyer Senior Center 10th Annual Soup Cook-Off
Friday, January 26 ~ 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Ten local chefs will be competing for your vote at our 10th Annual Soup Cook-off. A $7 donation includes soup, rolls and beverages and a chance at a drawing for door prizes.
This popular event is always a sell-out and seating is limited, therefore, ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. Phone reservations will not be accepted. A $7 check made payable to The City of Bay Village will hold your reservation. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Dwyer Center. Event sponsored by SeniorBridge.
Bay Alumni Madness Class Bowling Competition

All attendees will be entered into a door prize featuring two diamond box seats near home plate to Indians vs. Tigers game May 16!
Don’t bowl? Come and socialize and you can still help your class win! Just like school, attendance counts and will help your class win the KING PIN title! Social ticket is $25 and includes food and fun! Cash bar. Funds raised will help support the Bay Alumni Foundation Scholarship Program. Last year, Alumni Madness raised funds for two $500 scholarships.

Thursday, February 1 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. At the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, 28728 Wolf Rd. If you live on the lakefront this hearing may be of interest to you. Preliminary 2018 maps may be viewed at the City of Rocky River, City Hall Complex, 21012 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River during normal business hours. (440) 331-0600. Village Bicycle Cooperative
Friday, February 9 from 6 – 8 p.m.
The Village Bicycle Cooperative and Bike Cleveland are teaming up again for what has become a winter classic! Come partake in some awesome sled riding, enjoy some fatbike frolicking, and stuff your face with hot mac-n-cheese, warm cider and more!
The annual Winter Social at the Village Bicycle Cooperative is scheduled, so dig out that epic mac-n-cheese recipe for the cook off! We’ll also have pizza, hot cocoa, cider, and more. It’s a fun open house event with a little bit of everything – including some arts & crafts for the kids! Plus, while you’re there, you can learn about Village Bicycle’s work and how to get involved with us and Bike Cleveland.
As long as we have snow, the lit sled riding hill is right out back for a little high speed competitive action. Bring your sleds! But we will also have fatbike demos from Eddy’s Bike Shop and Spin Bike Shop for you to try out that night!
Think you make the best mac-n-cheese? Bring it. There will be prizes for top honors.
Come on out and get to know your fellow members and other bike minded folks! Bring the kids, bring your friends, and of course – bring a sled! You don’t need to be a member to come, everyone is invited!
Volunteers Needed ~ We are in need of volunteers Wednesday, February 7th to help prep the shop for this fun event. No sign up necessary, just show up!
