Super Year for Bay Matmen

It was a super year for the Bay High wrestling team! Junior 195-pouder Matt Cover led the way with a third place finish in the State Div. II Tournament two weeks ago. The win capped a 46-2 campaign for Cover, who also claimed conference, sectional and district titles.

He was joined by a strong lineup that saw Bay wrestlers leave their mark in post-season tournament action. He was joined at State by Connor McCarty (106). Notably, Bay advanced nine district qualifiers and added two sectional champions — three-time champion Matthew Cover (195) and Klevin Mici (220, 32-11) on Feb. 24 at Bay High. McCarty, Stephen Tepper (113), Mason Cover (132), Dillon Barry (152), Matt Leamon (160), Sage Long (182) and Brendan O’Doherty (285) also claimed prestigious district berths.
