Stolen Audi Found in East Cleveland

On 03/30/2018, at 0447 hrs, a Bay Village police officer was dispatched to the 24000 block of Russell Road on the report of a stolen vehicle. The owner told the officer he had last seen his 2003 Audi A6 parked in his driveway, with the keys in it, the previous evening at 2145 hours.  A report was taken and the Audi was entered as a stolen vehicle. At 1232 hrs Cleveland PD, advised Bay Village PD that the Audi had been found parked, with its hazards on, in the area of East 86th.

‘Novelty’ License Seized

On 04/01/2018, at 0113 hrs, an officer on routine patrol stopped a vehicle after observing the operator had failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Glen Park and Wolf. When asked, the driver produced his operator’s license and expired insurance card. The 19-year old Bay Village resident had left his wallet lying open on his lap. The officer saw a second Ohio operator’s license, in plain view, inside the open wallet. When asked about the license, the driver said it was a “novelty”. The date of birth on the second license indicated his age as 23 years old. The fictitious license was seized and the operator cited before being released.

Lock Your Car, Take Your Valuables

On 03/30/2018, at 0833 hrs, a resident in the 23900 block of Russell reported his unlocked vehicle, parked in the driveway, had been gone through. Nothing of value was taken.

The Bay Village Police Department reminds residents to remove all valuables from their locked vehicles. Most often unlocked cars are those entered, but if something of value is visible, perpetrators will break a window in order to gain entry.
