Armed Robbery in Westlake Parking Lot

Westlake Police report that an armed robbery took place in the parking lot of AutoNation Ford yesterday afternoon.

“At approx. 5:46 PM WPD received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Auto Nation at the corner of Center Ridge and Clague Rds.,” report Police. “A contractor in the parking lot was approached by an approx. 6′ white or hispanic male wearing a dark hoodie and a paint ball type protective helmet and goggles.  The suspect brandished a handgun and robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of money.  The suspect left the area on foot.  There were no reported injuries.  Westlake was assisted by North Olmsted, Bay Village, and Rocky River Police Departments in searching the area for suspect(s).  No one has been arrested at this time.  Detectives and officers are still on scene gathering physical evidence and statements from witnesses.”
