Avon High School All-State Jazz Ensemble

Three Avon High School students were recently named to the All-State Jazz Ensemble. The ensemble consists of only 17 students throughout the state. We are honored and proud to have three representing Avon. In addition, Erik Moellman, Avon music teacher and jazz program director, was asked to be the chairperson for the ensemble.

Congratulations to Zack Britting (baritone saxophone, grade 12), Anthony Kwasny (trombone, grade 11), and Eli Leder (bass, grade 10). The students will perform in the All-State Jazz Ensemble at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) conference in Cleveland on Feb. 5.

Avon High School Jazz Band students were also treated to a special rehearsal last month with several Bowling Green State University Jazz faculty members offering their expertise and talents to the band students.
