LCOOA Appoints New Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of the Lorain County Office on Aging is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Burgess as LCOOA Executive Director effective immediately. Board President, Andrea Kryszak stated that the Board is happy that Lauren has taken the position and are looking forward to working with her to continue to provide services to aid older adults and those with disabilities in Lorain County.

Lauren has been with the agency for over seven years, starting as an intern before being hired as a social worker in the Aging and Disability Resource Center department. Most recently she held the position of Service Delivery Supervisor with the LCOOA. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cleveland State University and received her master’s degree in social work from Cleveland State University. She has lived in Lorain County her entire life, currently residing in North Ridgeville.

“I am humbled to be given the opportunity to lead such a dedicated staff. I am looking forward to working with our excellent staff, volunteers and community partners to address the increasing needs of our older adult and disabled adult populations in Lorain County. We cannot do this alone but with positive partnerships with other service providers throughout the County, together this goal can be achieved”, stated Burgess.
