Spring is almost here and the first meeting of the WGC in the new year will feature a presentation about one of the first signs of spring, the running of sap in maple trees. The trees generously share some of that with us, which can be turn into sweet maple syrup. Bethany Mejeski from the Cleveland Metroparks will talk about the process of making syrup and the refinements and improvements that came over time.
The event will start with a business meeting from 11 a.m. to noon on March 21 at the Westlake Porter Public Library, 27333 Center Ridge Road. A luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and the speaker will follow.
The event is free and guests are welcome. No reservations are required.
