Westlake High School senior Brianna Bergenstein is the third WHS recipient of The Ohio State University’s acclaimed Morrill Scholarship Program Excellence Scholarship.
The scholarship recognizes students’ commitment to excellence and diversity initiatives. The Excellence Scholarship is equal to the value of in-state tuition. The Morrill Scholarship Program (MSP) seeks academically exceptional high school seniors who will contribute to campus diversity and who actively engage as advocates and champions of diversity, inclusion and academic excellence on campus. The MSP rewards more than 300 scholarships annually to high school seniors.
Brianna was on the swim team for two years at WHS, and an officer for National Art Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. She also is a four-year member of Student Council. When she is not at WHS, Brianna volunteers at St. Ladislas Church.
She plans to pursue a major in political science and public affairs and would like to attend law school. She has aspirations to become a civil rights lawyer.
Fellow classmates Selma Babiker and Shawn Walls also were named recipients of the Morrill Scholarship.
