Cops & Kids Returns

Cops & Kids (formerly Shop with a Cop) made its return to the west side last Saturday.

Westlake Police were joined by multiple other agencies to share in this special event to bring joy to several Westlake families.

If you heard sirens and saw a bunch of police cars that day, rest assured, it was for a great cause. Westlake cruisers took the kids to North Olmsted High between 7:35-7:40 a.m. for breakfast and the parade then left the high school at 9 headed for Walmart and Target for a shopping spree for the kids.

If you have never seen the parade of dozens of police all headed for a shopping spree with deserving kids, it’s quite a sight!

The shopping sprees are funded by raffles. For every $100 raised selling raffle tickets, police can take another child in need of a boost to Christmas shopping with a Police Officer. The low cost tickets were just 6 for $5. Their value? Priceless! Thanks go out to those who donated, bought raffle tickets or participated in any way to make this a great day for all.
