Westlake Girls Win SWC Tennis Title

The Westlake High girls team defended their Southwestern Conference title last weekend taking first in every division at the SWC Tournament hosted at Medina High.

It was the third straight SWC title for the Lady Demons, and the second year in a row they have swept their way to the crown, taking firsts in both doubles and all three singles categories.

Lauren Golick, the league’s MVP last year, won first singles. In second singles, it was Michelle Djohan taking top honors while Julia Dunbar captured third singles.

Coach Ralph Dunbar’s first doubles team of Melissa Djohan and Dana Miller captured a title as well, as did the second doubles team of Bhargevi Maheswer and Paavani Reddy.
