Thurs., Feb. 7 (9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.), Fri., Feb. 8 (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), Sat., Feb. 9 (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) and Sun., Feb. 10 (1:30-4:30 p.m.) Friends’ Annual Book Sale — Get books, DVDs and books on CD at bargain prices! Books include fiction, non-fiction and childrens. Half-price sale on Saturday and Bag sale on Sunday.
Sat., Feb. 9 (10:30-11:30 a.m.) and Fri., Feb. 22 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) Kids in Motion Sensory Time— Join us for stories, activities, music and more! Program consists of a 30-minute storytime followed by a 30-minute social-sharing time for the group. No registration required. Program is designed to engage children with autism or other special needs/sensory challenges. Each child must have an adult caregiver.
Tues., Feb. 12 (7 p.m.) Tuesday Evening Book Discussion – The February selection is Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson.
Thurs., Feb. 14 (7 p.m.) Non-Fiction Book Discussion—The February selection is Boomerang by Michael Lewis.
Fri., Feb. 15 (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) and Sat., Feb 16 (1-2:15 p.m.) Connecting for Kids Parent Discussion & Facilitated Playgroup — Participate in a discussion group led by a pediatric expert while your children play in a separate room with a CCBDD facilitator. You must RSVP for the playgroup starting one month before each session. Children do not need a formal diagnosis to attend. Topics listed at connectingforkids.org.
Sat., Feb. 16 (10:30-11 a.m.) Mother Goose on the Loose!—Join Mother Goose for this interactive storytime featuring simple books, rhymes, songs and movement. For ages birth-3 years old with adult caregiver. No registration.
Sat., Feb. 16 (3-4:45 p.m.) Mad4Manga – Do you love Manga, Anime or Japanese culture? If you do, this club is for you! Each month we watch a different Anime series and talk about our favorite Manga. Sometimes we even throw in some crafts, Manga drawing or Japanese treats just for fun! Grades 6 – 12 only. Registration not necessary.
Sun., Feb. 17 (2-4 p.m.) Friends’ Sunday Sounds – The Friends of Porter Public Library present the folk rock of Half Moon Jack.
Mon., Feb. 18 (11-11:45 a.m.) Fit, Fun & Frolic with Morrison Dance — Join Morrison Dance for a fun program that will take your young child’s natural energy and direct it into a lifelong love of physical activity! We’ll move to popular children’s songs and wiggle the morning away! Co-sponsored by the Westlake Westshore Arts Council. Registration begins February 11.
Mon., Feb. 18 (2-3:30 p.m.) Movies @ Your Library — Norman, a misunderstood boy, takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse. Rated PG. All ages welcome. In accordance with library policy, children under nine must be with a grown-up. Registration begins February 11.
Wed., Feb. 20 (5-6 p.m.) Tween Book Club — Read a really good book recently? Looking for suggestions? Then join us for lively discussions about good books, audio, apps and more. Snacks provided! Grades 5-8.
Wed., Feb. 20 (6:30-8:45 p.m.) Cuyahoga West Genealogical Society
Thurs., Feb. 21 (3-4:30 p.m.) Healthy, Fit Living for 50+ – -Fun and informative program for 50+ about life changes relating to physical activity, eating habits, medication, and health. Please register.
Thurs., Feb. 21 (5-6 p.m.) Teen Book Discussion – Read a really good book recently? Looking for suggestions? Then join us for a snack and a lively discussions about books, audio, apps and more. Grades 9-12. Please register starting February 14. Meets at Panera Bread, Westlake (26137 Detroit Road).
Fri., Feb. 22 (10 a.m.-Noon) Porter’s Fiber Fanatics – Socialize, share, and solve problems while you work on your current project.
Fri., Feb. 22 (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Connecting for Kids “Teach Me to Play” – Experts from the Cuyahoga Board of Developmental Disabilities will lead this playgroup for children 6 years and younger (siblings welcome). Parents will learn how to help their children play and interact with peers through modeling techniques. Children do not need a formal diagnosis to attend. Caregiver must stay in the room. Sat., Feb. 23 (2:30-3:30 p.m.) Brick Builders Club – Love those LEGO bricks? Then bring your ideas and imagination to the club! All bricks provided. Ages 6-13. Registration begins February 16.

Tues., Feb. 26 (7-8:30 p.m.) Heart 411 — Join Cleveland Clinic’s cardiac surgeons Dr. Marc Gillinov and Dr. Steven Nissen as they guide you through treatment options and the role of smoking, diet and stress in your heart’s health. Please register.
Wed., Feb. 27 (2 p.m.) Wednesday Afternoon Book Discussion — February’s selection is Cleopatra A Life by Stacy Schiff.
