THE BAY VILLAGE KIWANIS CLUB AWARDS $11,500 IN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL YOUTH

Local service organization holds a Member Social on August 27;

prospective members welcome.

The Bay Village Kiwanis Club is pleased to announce its 2013 Academic Achievement Scholarship Winners. The 52nd Annual event was held on July 24 at a dinner in the recipients’ honor.

The awardees, all recent Bay High School graduates, include: Marissa Andreano, Jackson Brothers, Carter Cruse, Rannie Dong, Gail Foster, Ryan Grimm, Nicole Hoover, Taylor Nemetz, Ariana Ortiz, Katelyn Ramella, Megan See, Stephanie Sheppa, Adam Tepper, Ryan Voiers, Fran Zappalla,  and Kristen Zeuch.

A total of $11,500 in college scholarships was awarded.

Bay Village Kiwanis is a community service organization with a rich 61-year history of making Bay Village a better place to live. All of fundraising proceeds allow the organization to support dozens of projects within the community.

The group’s major fundraisers include Pancake Breakfasts, Christmas Tree Sale at Cahoon Park and the annual “curly fry” booth at Bay Days. With these funds, the organization supports groups and projects such as the Village Food Project, BayArts, LENSC, Bay Family and Children’s Services, Bay Village Education Foundation, Bike To School Month and Cahoon Disc Golf Course.

Membership begins with “ME”

Through Kiwanis membership, communities are improved, friendships are made, leadership skills are developed and business contacts are made. Get Involved! New members bring fresh energy and ideas! Together we can change the world, one child and one community at a time.
