Football regular-season begins this week; official statewide scoreboard launched
The 2013 high school football season begins this week around Ohio as 714 schools kick off their regular-season schedules. After week four, the OHSAA will release weekly computer points ratings every Tuesday afternoon beginning Sept. 24, leading up to the final computer ratings released Sunday morning, Nov. 3. With the expansion to seven divisions in 2013, a total of 224 schools will earn playoff berths.
New this year is an official OHSAA football statewide scoreboard. The scoreboard is updated either from schools entering scores into the myOHSAA online system, which is required, or by schools that use the free Digital Scout Football App. Digital Scout is a partner with the OHSAA on several initiatives and the OHSAA endorses Digital Scout’s mobile stats app and highly encourages schools to use it. The free Digital Scout Football stat tracking app is already used by more than 200 Ohio varsity teams and provides coaches with detailed stat reports.
