The Society of St. Luke Honors Two at St. John Medical Center

The Society of St. Luke was established to recognize and honor selected members of the Medical Staff of St. John Medical Center for distinguished service to patients and the mission of SJMC in 2002.

The Society welcomed two new members Sunday, Dec. 8, at an awards dinner held at LaCentre in Westlake. Honored were James H. Myers, M.D. and Carlos E. Zevallos, M.D. (posthumously).

St. Luke, author of one of the four Gospels, was also a physician and recognized as the “Patron Saint of Physicians.” It is within this spirit of Jesus’ concern for humanity that Drs. Myers and Zevallos were welcomed into this prestigious society. St. John Medical Center gives special thanks to all its excellent medical staff members who contribute so much to the spirit of caring that is the hallmark of St. John Medical Center.

James H. Myers, M.D., and Carlos E. Zevallos, M.D. (posthumously) were honored this week. They join a venerable list of past inductees who have shared in this honor since its establishment in 2002.
