bay police logo 130121011959_bay-village-police-300x168On 03/12/2014, at 0132 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on the Clague Rd. overpass for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 37-yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the Lakewood resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.

 

OVI

On 03/12/2014, at 1758 hrs, BVPD responded to a MVA on West Oviatt at Cahoon.  Officers suspected the at fault party had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered to the 49- yoa male resident, and as a result, he was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

Home Early

On 03/12/2014, at 2225 hrs, an Ashton Lane resident called to report his neighbors were in Florida for the winter, and a van just pulled into the driveway and people went into the house.  Officers responded and discovered that the homeowners had arrived home early.  BVPD reminds residents to please call when you see suspicious activity.

 

Pot Violation

On 03/13/2014, at 0229 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Columbia for a traffic violation.  When the officer spoke with the 20-yoa female driver, he detected the distinct odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle.  The driver admitted she had marijuana, and turned it over to police.  The resident was cited for a traffic violation and Possession of Marijuana.  She will face charges at RRMC.

 

False Tax Return

On 03/13/2014, at 1400 hrs, a BVPD officer was dispatched to a house in the 29000 block of Lake Rd. for a fraud report.  The resident reported that someone had filed false tax returns in her and her husband’s name.  BVPD and the IRS are investigating.

 

Car Left Open

On 03/15/2014, at 0346 hrs, a BVPD officer discovered a car door standing open in the 28000 block of Knickerbocker.  Nothing appeared disturbed and it appeared to be an oversight by the owner.

 

Illegal Alien

On 03/15/2014, at 1620 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Cahoon near Lake Rd. for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the driver, it was determined the driver did not have a driver’s license, and was in the country illegally.  US Border Patrol was contacted, and handled the situation.

 

Busted

On 03/16/2014, at 0144 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Rockledge for a traffic violation.   The 20-yoa female operator did not have a driver’s license, and had two active felony warrants with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s  Office.  She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and will be transferred to the County Jail.
