Maximum Velocity Strikes Out Cancer at Bay Lanes

image011Maximum Velocity hosted their first annual Strike Out Cancer event at Bay Lanes on Sunday, May 4.

The purpose of the event was to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man and Women of the Year Campaign. The Man and Women of the Year campaign is a national ten-week campaign to raise funds to help find cures for blood cancer and its research. The money raised in the Cleveland area will help support local children with this terrible cancer.

The Boy & Girl of the Year are local blood cancer survivors. Anyone listening to their stories immediately understands the critical nature of this campaign. These children provide inspiration and motivation to candidates during the ten-week fundraising campaign, and support for their appeals.

Maja and Vince (pictured) are this year’s Cleveland Boy & Girl of the year. A bowling pin was signed by all participants at our event and will be given to Vince along with an event t-shirt!

“We had about 75 people attend our bowl-a-thon event, but over 125 who participated in some way,” said Samantha Stuart of Maximum Velocity (a leading West Shore multi-media marketing firm).  Our goal was to raise over $3,500.00 for this campaign and we succeeded! We currently have raised over $4,000.00 and are still finalizing our numbers! We were able to do this by our wonderful partnership with Bay Lanes, our sponsors (both Corporate & Lane), raffle baskets, and 50/50 raffle the day off.

“It was such a great day and I was honored to be a part of it!”
