SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, OH – The Center for Orthopedics will host their 6th Annual Free Sports Physical event on Friday, June 6th, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to all students who are required to receive a sports physical for various programs.
Several area physicians will be donating their time to perform the physicals, including the doctors based at The Center for Orthopedics. The medical portion of the physicals will be provided by local physicians of varying specialties; while the orthopedic examination will be performed by one of the board certified physicians of The Center for Orthopedics. These highly-trained and skilled specialists have been recognized locally, regionally and nationally in the discipline of orthopedic medicine, and serve as the orthopedic team of the Cleveland Gladiators as well as the Lake Erie Crushers.
“Student athletes are an integral part of our practice,” said Sheila Tonn-Knopf, Director of The Center for Orthopedics. “Our physicians are athletes themselves, and they understand the importance of having a thorough sports physical performed before participation begins.” She continued, “This event is our way of giving back to the community, and it just keeps growing each and every year.” In 2013, more than 750 students from schools in Lorain County, Cuyahoga County and Medina County received physicals.
To participate, student athletes should download the OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) physical form from their school’s web site, and bring it with them to the event. The student’s medical history forms that have been signed by a parent or guardian are required as well.
Each student who receives a physical will also receive a “goody bag” and a free t-shirt, while supplies last. So, make your reservation today! The deadline to RSVP is Monday, June 2nd. Please call 440-329-2860 to reserve a spot.
