L’Amour du Vin, Lorain County’s premier food and wine event, celebrated 17 years of world class wine-tasting and award-winning local cuisine on Thursday, October 9.
Presented by University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, this annual event benefits the Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio.
From 6 to 9 p.m., L’Amour du Vin hosted more than 450 guests at Avon Oaks Country Club. Wines from around the world and food from 17 local restaurants were featured. More than $65,000 was raised, exceeding the event’s goal.
The Arthritis Foundation expressed special thanks to event co-chairs Linda Hamann and Chris Lynch, and also to the event sponsors. Presenting Sponsor was University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. Corporate sponsors included Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, P.L.L.; Emerson Network Power, Ethel Tyler Charitable Trust, FirstMerit Private Bank, General Plug & Manufacturing, C. Lynch/Sig Ep Alumni, and Miller Coors.
Participating restaurants in this year’s L’Amour du Vin included: 41 North, Ahern Catering, Aladdin’s Eatery, AMP150 Restaurant & Bar, Arrabiata’s Italian Restaurant, Bistro 83, Chef Shawn Gregg, Gatherings Kitchen, Gourmet Guy Catering, Kiedrowski’s Simply Delicious Bakery, Little Devil Cupcakery, Parker’s Grille and Tavern, Sapori Italian Grille, Seryrell’s Food Products, LLC; Sweet Designs Chocolatier, Taki’s Greek Kitchen and Your Deli.
VIP ticket-holders enjoyed an exclusive lounge where 41 North provided special food presentations, samples and demonstrations. Fall-inspired cocktail tastings from Brown-Forman and spa services from EXHALE: The Spa added special twists to the event this year.
Other event highlights included live music, a silent auction and raffles featuring a “Dine Around” collection of restaurant gift certificates and a five-day, four-night western Caribbean cruise, among many other prizes.
L’Amour du Vin has been instrumental in raising funds supporting local Arthritis Foundation programs and services and research.
