Bay Police: Suspicious Bushman

What was this man doing in the bushes? On 10/06/2014, at 0107 hours, a Bay Village Police officer observed a vehicle that was registered to a Cleveland address pull down Lake Park (dead end street).  Shortly after this the officer pulled down the street and observed a male walking out of some bushes, and the car parked in the middle of the cul-de-sac.  The officer approached the 24 years of age male and spoke with him.  The male stated he had been visiting a friend in the area, and pulled down Lake Park to look at the lake before returning home to Cleveland.  While speaking with the male, the officer suspected the male, who had been driving the car, was drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the male was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

Meds Swiped

On 10/06/2014, at 1307 hrs, a resident in the 29000 block of Wolf Rd. reported he had several prescription medications stolen from his house.  Police are investigating.

Table Fire

On 10/09/2014, at 2012 hrs, a resident called to report a picnic table on fire behind Normandy Elementary School.  The fire was out prior to police arrival.  Police are investigating.

Turn for the Worse

On 10/10/2014, at 0037 hrs, a BVPD officer observed a truck turn around in the cul-de-sac on Yarmouth and park in front of a house.  The registered owner of the vehicle had been the subject of a harassment complaint filed earlier in the evening. The officer approached the male, identified as the owner, and spoke with him about the harassment claim.  As the officer spoke with the male, the officer suspected the 34 yoa resident had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were conducted, and as a result the driver was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.  The harassment claim is being investigated by police.

OVI

On 10/12/2014, at 0134 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett Rd. near the railroad tracks for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 50 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the Westlake resident was arrested for OVI.  She will face charges at RRMC.
