A car chase in Rocky River on Nov. 11 ended with four of five suspects apprehended. At 11:10 a.m., Fairview Park Police requested mutual aid from Westlake PD and RRPD in stopping and apprehending several indviduals that were fleeing in a stolen car. The pursuit continued from Fairview Park into Rocky River where the vehicle eventually pulled into a driveway on River Lane. After pulling into the driver it suddenly drove through several yards and continued fleeing. It struck a Fairview Park police car while fleeing. Eventually the vehicle lost control and all 5 occupants fled on foot. 4 of the 5 were apprehended. One of which resisted arrest. Some of the suspects admitted to being gang members. Fairview Park PD to charge with GTMV, RSP, Resisting Officer. Pending charges from RRPD.
On 11/08 at 1620 hrs Lake Road MVA Hit/Skip, OVI, Drug Possession, Drug ParaphernliaOfficers were dispatched to the area of Clifton Road where a victim reports she was hit skipped by a vehicle on Lake Road near Wagar in Rocky River.
The victim followed the vehicle into Lakewood. The officers observed the suspect vehicle and spoke with the driver. His speech was slow and his eyes were half opened. He stated that he didn’t know that he struck another vehicle. He said he hadn’t drank any alcohol.
He was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests which he did. As he exited a black package was observed sticking out of his crotch area. The package was determined to be the drug spice. The man admitted smoking spice. He was arrested and charged with OVI. Other Spice packages were located in his car. He was charged with OVI and other drug related charges are pending.
On 11/09 at 1541hrs a Parklane Burglary Resident reports two males attempted to enter the home through the garage and her husband was currently chasing them. Officers from RRPD and FPPD responded and both suspects taken into custody, charged with burglary. One of the males admitted to being a Heartless Felon gang member.
