Contractor Arrested for Bay Home Theft

Bay Village Police served a felony warrant on a 52 year old male North Olmsted resident for Burglary and Theft on 01/28/2015, at 0845 hours.  A resident in Cahoon Ledges reported $4,000 worth of silver was missing from her house On 01/03/2015.  After an investigation, it was determined the male had done some construction work for the resident, and allegedly stole the silver while he was doing the work.  He will face charges at Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

Mail Theft

On 01/23/2015, at 0935 hrs, a Huntington Woods resident reported an item had been stolen from her mail.  One of the envelopes in her daily mail had been opened, and a flash drive was stolen.  Police are investigating.

Fraudulent Charges

On 01/26/2015, at 1731 hrs, a resident in the 26000 block of Wolf Rd. reported someone had made approximately $1,800 in fraudulent charges on her Key Bank MasterCard.  Police are investigating.


On 01/30/2015, at 0127 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett near Lake Rd. for a traffic violation.  After speaking with the 25 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were conducted, which indicated the driver was not impaired.  She gave consent for her vehicle to be searched, which turned up several open containers of beer.   She was cited for Open Container.  A 27 yoa male passenger was also cited for Open Container.  They will face charges at RRMC.
