Bay Village Police: Better Safe Than Sorry

On April 3 , at 1024 hours, a resident in the 29000 block of Osborn called Bay Village Police to report his neighbors were not home and there were two vans in the driveway.  There were several people that were removing items from the house.  When officers arrived on scene they discovered the homeowner was moving, and the people at the house were his friends that were helping him bay police logo 130121011959_bay-village-police-300x168move.  BVPD reminds resident to please call when you witness suspicious activity.

Borrowed Mom’s Car

On 04/04/2015, at 1645 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Wolf Rd. at Canterbury.  After speaking with the 15 yoa driver, the officer learned the unlicensed driver had taken her mom’s car out for a drive without her mom’s knowledge.  The driver was issued a citation and her mother responded to the scene to take possession of the car.  The Bay Village resident will face charges at CCJC.

IRS Fraud

On 04/02/2015, at 1024 hrs, a Midland resident contacted BVPD to report her taxes had been fraudulently filed by an unknown person.  Police are investigating.

Disturbance

On 04/02/2015, at 1636 hrs, an Upland resident called BVPD to report a disturbance in the street in front of her house.  BVPD officers responded and located an 18 yoa male who was having an argument with his 17 yoa girlfriend.  They were advised of the complaint, and went their separate ways.

Drunks Out

On 04/04/2015, at 0911 hrs, a patron of CVS called BVPD to report a group of young adults were drinking alcohol in a car in the parking lot.  The vehicle left while the patron was on the phone with police.  Officers stopped the car on Lake Rd. near Huntmere.  After speaking with the driver and passengers, officers suspected all of the underage occupants had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result all four of the occupants were arrested for various alcohol related offenses.  The two 20 yoa and two 19 yoa males will face charges at RRMC.

On 04/05/2015, at 0233 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Dover Center.  After speaking with the 46 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the driver was arrested for OVI.  The Lakewood resident will face charges at RRMC.
