Bay Police: Restaurant Receives Phone Threat

An employee of the Green Island Restaurant called Bay Police on April 23 at 1241 hrs, to report receiving a threatening phone call on the restaurant’s phone.  Bay Police say an Arabic sounding male had called the business and made threats when the phone was answered.  Officers determined the phone number the call originated from was associated with a scam, and it is unknown where the call originated.  Police are investigating.


On 04/23/2015, at 0234 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Long Beach for several traffic violations.  After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 50 yoa male was arrested for OVI.  The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.

Tax Fraud

On 04/23/2015, at 1745 hrs, a Nantucket Row resident called BVPD to report his Federal Taxes had been fraudulently filed.  Police are investigating.

On 04/24/2015, at 1453 hrs, a Walmar resident reported that her Federal Taxes had been fraudulently filed. Police are investigating.

Hope for Print Industry

On 04/25/2015, at 1347 hrs, a Walmar resident called to report someone stole her newspaper overnight.  This has been an ongoing problem.  Police will be making extra patrols through the area.
