Westlake’s Madeline Lee Earns Top Art Awards

Westlake High School AP art senior Madeline Lee’s work, “Imagination,” was accepted into the Governor’s Exhibition. Lee’s artwork was one of 300 pieces chosen out of 12,000 entries. An awards ceremony took place April 12 at the Columbus Atheneum.

Madeline’s “Crossing Westlake” piece also earned a National Silver Key Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards after earning a regional Gold Key award in the regional contest. This year 300,000 works were submitted to regional Scholastic programs, with 17,000 Gold Key works qualifying for national judging. Only 2,250 National Medals were awarded.
