Bay Police Nab California Kidnapping Suspect

Bay Village Police arrested a man wanted for kidnapping in Florida early Sunday morning.

On February 26, at 1:51am, a Bay Village Officer found a male sleeping in his vehicle in the area of Eaton Way and Columbia Roads.POLICE_Bay Village_Disclaimer

The male, a 30 year old, Avon Lake resident, was found to have active warrants in Tennessee and with the Los Angeles Police Department. The warrant with the L.A.P.D. was for kidnapping and included full extradition.

The male was brought back to the BVPD on various misdemeanor charges and was seen by a Rocky River Municipal Court Judge the next day. He was later transported to the Cuyahoga County Jail and to await extradition to California.

Menacing

On February 26, at 5:39pm, Bay Village Police responded to the 500 block of Columbia Road on report of aggravated menacing. Police responded and found evidence that a 51 year old male resident had threatened bodily harm against one of his roommates. The male was arrested and will charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.

Underage Drinking

On February 27, at 1:43am, a Bay Village Officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Road at Porter Creek for a traffic violation. While speaking with the two occupants, (two brothers – 16 and 18 years old) the officer noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside of the vehicle. The eighteen year old admitted to having consumed beer earlier in the evening.  Their parents were notified and the 18 year old was placed under arrest.
