Bay Police: Purse Lifted at Speedway

POLICE_Bay Village_DisclaimerOn March 18, 2016 at 5:00 pm, Bay Village Police report they were dispatched to the Speedway on Columbia Road on report of a stolen purse. The victim, a 30 year old Bay Village resident, had went inside to pay for her gas and when she returned to the vehicle, her purse was gone. Witnesses, and later video evidence, showed that a black male was seen crouching near the victim’s vehicle and then leave the scene. The suspect is described as a 18-20 year old black male, skinny, wearing a wearing a white t-shirt. Anyone with similar experiences or other information should call the Bay Village Police Department.

Attempted Break-in?

On March 18, 2016 at 11:55am, an Arlington Circle resident called Bay Police to report that someone may have tried to enter her home in the overnight hours. The resident was awakened during the night by the garage door opening and closing but found nothing suspicious when they investigated. Later that day, they discovered what appeared to be fresh damage to the interior pedestrian door suggesting someone tried to make entry into the home. Bay Police were dispatched to the residence, and collected evidence. The Bay Village Detective Bureau is currently investigating the matter.

Fraud

On March 18, 2016 at 3:39 pm, Bay Village Police were dispatched to assist with an incident of Fraud. A Drake Road resident fell victim to a real estate scam when they forwarded personal information and money to what they thought was a leasing agent. The Bay Village Detective Bureau is investigating the matter.
