University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital (Avon, OH) recently named Andrew Goldfrach, FACHE as their first permanent Chief Executive Officer on May 9, 2016. Mr. Goldfrach joins the hospital from Good Shepherd Penn Partners in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as the Administrator for the Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine – a 58-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital licensed under the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania/Penn Medicine.
“It is with great pleasure to have the opportunity to come to Avon and work with such talented individuals to better the lives of our patients” Mr. Goldfrach says. “For years this area has not had acute rehabilitation services. We are now very fortunate to be able to provide this level of care focusing on getting our patients back home faster with high quality outcomes”.
Goldfrach was with Good Shepherd Penn Partners since the beginning of 2014. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the hospitals CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) re-accreditation and new accreditation of their spinal cord program, grew physician and employee relationships and built a strong culture around patient experience and safety. Prior to Good Shepherd Penn Partners, Goldfrach was a consultant in healthcare management and strategy. Additionally, he held hospital leadership positions at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, Phoenixville Hospital also in Philadelphia and BJC Healthcare in St. Louis. Mr. Goldfrach started his career in rehabilitation medicine at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC.
Mr. Goldfrach is board certified in healthcare management and a fellow the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Policy from Ithaca College in New York. In 2014, he was awarded the American College of Healthcare Executives Regent’s Award for his commitment to healthcare and community.
University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital, a Joint Venture with Kindred Healthcare, is a freestanding, state-of-the-art, 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital.
