Avon Lake Takes Souper Bowl Trophy

Thank you to EVERYONE who supported the annual Avon-Avon Lake Community Resource Services SOUPer Bowl Food Drive.

Thanks to the community’s efforts, CRS collected 6,433 pounds of food and $14,719…..together this is the equivalent of more than 80,000 pounds of food, all of which stays right here to help the residents of Avon and Avon Lake!

Winner of this year’s CRS Souper Bowl trophy is Avon Lake. The trophy was presented at halftime of the Avon-Avon Lake football game two weeks ago. This was the culmination of the 7th Annual CRS SOUPer Bowl Food Drive. This friendly competition is between Avon and Avon Lake to see which community can collect the most items by weight for the CRS food pantry!

Collection trucks were parked near the caboose at Avon Lake High School Memorial Stadium until the end of the first quarter of the Avon vs. Avon Lake varsity football game. They were also accepting cash donations. Anxious fans waited to see which community would bring home the coveted SOUPer Bowl Trophy? They found out at halftime – Avon Lake!
