Westlake High’s Homecoming weekend was a hit as Noor Faroum and Jeremy Schwochow were crowned homecoming king and queen before last Friday’s football game against Midview.
The annual Homecoming Parade featured the theme of “Amazon Jungle.” All high school classes and many clubs took part, all with distinctive homecoming floats.
Raindrops that threatened the late afternoon activities stopped just in time for the parade and Rose Arch Ceremonies at UH St. John Medical Center Field. A glorious rainbow blessed the night as it stretched from end zone to end zone.
Among the parade participants were this year’s Westlake Hall of Fame inductees Mike Antonyzyn (’68 Distinguished Hall of Fame), Bob Clancy (’65 Distinguished Hall of Fame), Dr. Jennifer Psota Dougherty (’90 Athletic Hall of Fame), and Jon Thompson (Honorary Hall of Fame).
