Westlake Firefighter/Paramedics and Safety Forces were honored at last week’s City Council Meeting with the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Recognition Award.
The award was presented by representatives of UH St. John Medical Center, who nominated the EMTs for the honor.
The Lifeline EMS Gold Award recognizes the implementation of quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients experiencing severe heart attacks. SJMC and the City of Westlake work closely to optimize patient care and communication with the SJMC Emergency Department. Accurate advance ECG information prepares the hospital for immediate STEMI (myocardial infarction) patient care upon arrival at the ER.
