Armed Abduction Leads to North Ridgeville Arrests

North Ridgeville Police received a report that a 27 year old man was being held at gunpoint inside a vehicle at 1851 hours on Jan. 10.POLICE_North Ridgeville_Disclaimer

The caller was reported to be the victim’s brother who was inside a house at 4946 Stoney Ridge Road. The vehicle was in the driveway.

The call stated the suspect was holding the man at gunpoint demanding $500, according to Police. The suspect, say police, told people in the house through an unknown third party that if the money wasn’t produced, the man would be killed.

Several officers responded and moved by stealth through neighboring yards. Once upon the vehicle, the occupants were removed without incident.

The 26-year old suspect, Aaron J. Walton-Smith, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, abduction, aggravated menacing, having weapons under disability, receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana.

The victim, Brandon Sharp, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. He also had outstanding warrant. The caller and a female inside the house were arrested on outstanding warrants through Elyria police.
