Dover Intermediate School sixth grade student Lillie Forbes earned a perfect score of 20 on the WordMasters Challenge, a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 150,000 students annually.
Lillie competed in the difficult Blue Division and was one of only 15 sixth graders nationally to achieve this perfect score. Students were coached by Language Arts teacher Jessica Ranallo.
Lillie is the second DIS sixth grade student to earn a perfect score this year. Roman Lucarelli earned a perfect score in the same division earlier this year.
The WordMasters Challenge is an exercise in critical thinking that first encourages student to become familiar with a set of new words, and then challenges them to use those words to complete analogies expressing various kinds of logical relationships. WordMasters Challenge materials were specifically crated for younger students in grades three through eight.
