Megan Moutoux Named Westlake Schools Alumni Coordinator

Westlake High School 1992 graduate Megan Ferry Moutoux will assume the newly created role of Alumni Coordinator for the Westlake City School District.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Goggin said it’s a goal of the school district to strengthen its bond with alumni.

“Strengthening this bond starts when our students are in our schools,” Dr. Goggin said. “Megan will work to engage our future alumni with our current alumni by acting as a liaison between the Westlake Schools and alumni.”

Moutoux will serve as a liaison between alumni and the Westlake City Schools, be as a resource for reunions and alumni events, organize fundraisers to support alumni scholarships, and maintain a database of alumni.

“Our connection with alumni doesn’t start when they leave us,” Dr. Goggin said. “The more they are connected while they are here, the stronger our alumni group.”

A big goal for Moutoux is to provide consistency in alumni communications by providing a one-stop shop for all things alumni.

“I’m proud of where I came from, and I want the current students to be proud and transition to alumni who are connected to their school,” Moutoux said.

Dr. Goggin said Moutoux “personifies Demon Pride.”

“I believe she’s been doing a lot of this job already without having the title,” Dr. Goggin said. “Her enthusiasm and passion for Westlake, and her infectious positive personality make her authentic. She has a depth of knowledge of the people in Westlake.”

Moutoux said she looks forward to building the Alumni Association and welcoming everyone back.

“I am looking to make everyone feel good about being a part of Westlake, whether they are an alum or not,” she said. “I want parents to be excited about sending their kids here. I want the community to support our schools and have pride in being a part of Westlake.”

Moutoux and her husband Peter have four children – Connor (Class of 2013), Kelley (’18), Abbey (senior) and Mary (freshman). She is a former secretary for Dover Intermediate School, ran the Taste of Westlake event for several years, and was involved in many campaigns through the Citizens for Westlake Schools, including the bond issue for the new buildings.
