Rocky River Middle School students competed at the CCC-West Solo & Ensemble Contest over the weekend, earning top ratings.
A total of 15 soloists and 40 students in six ensembles took part in the event and combined for 14 Superior ratings, three Excellent ratings and two Good ratings.
According to RRMS music teacher Mary Fancher, the judges were impressed with the students’ singing, preparation, and poise throughout the competition.
The Solo & Ensemble competitions are individual and small group performances and evaluation opportunities for students who are looking for additional chances to sharpen their music skills. Students select a piece of music and receive feedback after their performance from judges who are professional musicians.
